Cancellation &
Refund Policy
Our commitment to transparency around donations, cancellations, and the refund process.
We understand mistakes happen. Our refund policy is designed to be fair and transparent. If you made a donation in error or under exceptional circumstances, we will do our best to assist you promptly.
1. Overview
Skion Educare Foundation is a registered charitable organisation. Donations made to us are used to fund our community development programmes across West Bengal, India. Because our work depends on the timely deployment of funds, we follow a carefully considered cancellation and refund policy.
This policy applies to all financial contributions made to Skion Educare Foundation through our official website, bank transfers, or any other official channel. Please read it carefully before making a donation.
2. General Policy
As a general rule, all donations to Skion Educare Foundation are non-refundable. This is because donations are immediately committed to ongoing charitable programmes and operational activities that benefit communities in need.
However, we recognise that genuine errors and exceptional circumstances can occur. We evaluate refund requests on a case-by-case basis with compassion and fairness, as described in Section 3 below.
β οΈ Please double-check donation amounts and recipient details before completing a transaction. If you made a donation in error, contact us immediately at info@skion.org β the sooner we hear from you, the better we can assist.
3. Eligible Refund Circumstances
We will review and consider refund requests in the following circumstances:
- Duplicate Transactions: If your payment was processed more than once for a single intended donation due to a system error or double-submission, we will refund the duplicate charge in full.
- Incorrect Amount Donated: If you donated a significantly different amount than intended due to a technical error or interface issue (not a change of mind), we will consider a partial or full refund of the excess amount.
- Unauthorised Transaction: If you believe a donation was made from your account without your knowledge or authorisation, please contact us and your bank immediately. We will cooperate fully with any investigation.
- Technical Failure: If a technical error caused your payment to be deducted but no donation confirmation was received, and we are unable to trace the transaction, we will initiate a refund.
βΉοΈ All eligible refund requests must be submitted within 7 days of the original transaction date. Requests submitted after this window may not be processed.
4. Non-Refundable Circumstances
The following circumstances do not qualify for a refund:
- Change of mind after a donation has been successfully processed
- Dissatisfaction with programme outcomes or impact reports (we encourage you to share feedback directly)
- Donations made more than 7 days before the refund request is submitted
- Donations already allocated to and spent on active programmes at the time of the request
- Requests made by third parties on behalf of the donor without proper authorisation
- Tax receipt issued and the donation has been used for claimed deductions
If your request falls outside eligible categories but you believe your situation merits special consideration, please write to us. We will consider each situation individually with compassion.
5. How to Request a Refund
To initiate a refund, please follow these steps:
6. Refund Timeline
Once a refund is approved, the processing timeline is as follows:
Please note that bank processing times vary. NEFT/RTGS refunds may take 3β5 additional business days to appear in your account. UPI and card refunds typically process faster.
7. Recurring / Standing Donations
If you have set up a recurring donation mandate and wish to cancel it:
- You may cancel a recurring donation at any time by emailing us at info@skion.org
- Cancellation requests must be received at least 5 business days before the next scheduled deduction date to prevent that cycle from processing
- If a deduction occurs within the 5-day window after your cancellation request, we will refund that final deduction as a one-time exception
- Amounts already processed and utilised before cancellation are not refundable
8. Technical Errors & Failed Transactions
Occasionally, technical issues may cause confusion about whether a donation was successfully processed. In such cases:
- If your bank account was debited but you received no confirmation email from us, please forward your bank debit statement to info@skion.org
- We will investigate within 3 business days and either confirm receipt of your donation or initiate a refund
- Do not re-attempt the payment until you hear from us, to avoid duplicate charges
- If a payment failed and your account was not debited, no action is needed β there is nothing to refund
9. Volunteer Programme Cancellation
Volunteering with Skion Educare Foundation is entirely free of charge β we do not charge any fees for volunteering. Therefore, no financial refunds apply to volunteer registrations or cancellations.
If you have registered as a volunteer and need to withdraw, please inform us as early as possible at info@skion.org so we can make alternative arrangements for programme delivery. We appreciate advance notice and understand that circumstances change.
